A Close up of Horace

Ask Horace

Horace Horatio III Horace Horatio III has been a consultant to Mary Baker's clients for a number of years. His credentials are impeccable. He was educated at the Sorbonne and studied with Paul Cezanne-yes he is that old. He continues to visit the Louvre with great regularity.
Should a client have trouble deciding between two of Mary's works of art, Horace will cast his beady eyes (he doesn't believe they are beady, but we know otherwise) and help the client make an informed and satisfying decision. However, if for some reason a client should not be interested in a work of art by Mary, Horace would be most discreet, he would never let on.
Horace-- such knowledge and experience, such wisdom, such grace-who could not appreciate his most trusted deliberation. Certainly, Mary has been incredibly lucky to have him.
A Close up of HoraceIt would be advised never to mention to Horace that he might be related to a troll or to refer to his age (his water spots if he were human, they would be liver spots, give it away). Should someone even hint at these two idiosyncrasies, indubitably, he will flap his flippers and never give that person a consultation again.
Should you have any questions about Mary's art work, or art in general, or simply want to chat with Horace in person you can email him at horace(at)marybakerart.com, or feel to fill out the form below. Horace feels that receiving an inquiry from you would be the greatest of delights. (Although he is fluent in French, Horace prefers to email only in English.)
It would be a pleasure for Horace to hear from you. Please include your full name and a return email address so that he can respond to questions, inquiries and corrspondence. Thank you.

From her studio in Newburyport, Massachusetts, Mary Baker works with oils to present visual expressions that are both contemporary and compellingly realistic. Her work has been shown in prominent exhibitions and shows in New York and elsewhere on the East Coast and her paintings are well represented in private and public collections nationwide. Her site is, as one would expect, visually pleasing, easy to use and nudges the visitor into deeper investigations of her gifts.

"Your art is SO BEAUTIFUL. I totally fell in love with your pieces. I've always been a Hopper fan for his realism, and your work conjures that experience for me. I absolutely love "Pansies and Door" and "Red Tulips." Your work is truly exquisite. I can only hope I have the chance to see it in person some day. "
What a pleasure and priviledge to come across this website...this art...this artist. An oasis in the desert of contemporary art.
"I finally got into your website; I think it's quite elegant and sophisticated, and shows off your paintings very well; I'm not sure about the Horace guy." (Horace's Note: That last remark wasn't very nice, was it!)
"I LOVE 'the Horace guy!' I laughed so much! What an excellent idea to have him present the "testimonials". Love it." (Horace's Note: I'm rather fond of this one!)

And by the way, I'm enormously found of this painting as well. I admire its texture, combined with the art work's compelling composition--a true tour de force.
